Company Background

Founded in 1992, Real Estate Institute has provided high-quality professional education to more than 195,000 alumni nationwide.

Early on, the school aimed to offer Illinois real estate licensing programs that would best prepare students to achieve their own successes. The positive reputation established with loyal students helped the company grow well beyond its real estate roots. Today, Real Estate Institute provides education to meet the regulatory requirements for real estate, insurance, mortgage brokerage, and lending professionals.

The school's President, Larry Toban, has been with the organization since 2004.  Even before then, he played an active role in the school's growth as he guided his parents, the school's founders, to implement unique technology solutions that enabled the (then) small business to grow steadily.  Through ongoing investment and development, the school has been able to offer streamlined academic services, such as our popular Flex programs that allow students to attend and earn credit on convenient and flexible schedules.

In August 2024, Real Estate Institute became part of the Aceable family, led by CEO Blake Garrett. This acquisition marks Aceable’s entry into the Illinois real estate market and allows Real Estate Institute to enhance its offerings by leveraging Aceable’s cutting-edge technology. Together, we remain committed to helping professionals earn and maintain their licenses with high-quality, accessible education and support.

AceableAgent, Aceable’s real estate division, offers pre-licensing training in states like Texas, California, Florida, and more. Real Estate Institute will continue providing pre-licensing and continuing education courses for real estate, mortgage, and insurance professionals.

Each student is encouraged to engage with our knowledgeable team of academic and administrative professionals, who answer detailed licensing questions, provide technical support and provide one-on-one instructor support (or give an extra dose of encouragement to students who are about to take their licensing examinations).
